Preparing for an Intuitive Massage
To make the most of your intuitive massage experience, a few preparatory steps can enhance the session:
1. Set an Intention
Take a moment before the session to reflect on your intention. Whether your goal is relaxation, pain relief, or balanced energy, a clear intention can deepen the therapeutic benefits.
2. Arrive Early and Communicate Your Needs
To make the most of your session, please arrive 10 minutes early. This provides time to discuss specific needs, prepare, and mentally transition into a relaxed state. Open communication ensures your therapist can customize the session to meet your needs
Please note: sessions will be shortened for clients who arrive after the scheduled appointment time. Last-minute rescheduling is not available for late arrivals or missed appointments, and deposits are non-refundable. Full payment is required for cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance.
3. Health and Medical Information
Please discuss any areas of concern, injuries, contraindications, or medical conditions and ensure that your intake forms are complete with any relevant medical details.
4. Personal Items and Hygiene
For comfort, remove any jewelry or accessories before the session. Ensure that your phone is silenced. Additionally, please shower and practice good hygiene before your session. For safety and effectiveness, arrive free of alcohol, stimulants, or substances; clients showing signs of use (e.g., alcohol or marijuana odor with signs of impairment, or overstimulation) will be denied service without a refund.
Communicating Your Needs and Preferences
To create the best experience, communicate the following:
1. Pressure Level
If adjustments are needed, let Gina know at any time. For Intuitive Massages, light to medium pressure is standard please do not request deep or intense pressure unless upgrading to a Deep Tissue Massage or add on.
2. Talking Preferences
If you prefer minimal conversation, let Gina know. Your wishes will be fully respected. If you enjoy talking, that’s welcome too—some clients find it helps ease initial anxiety or process thoughts that arise.
3. Boundaries of Conversation and Body
DRAPING IS REQUIRED with a sheet and blanket, a hand or bath towel cannot be a substitute. The blanket can be removed if too warm but not the sheet.
Keep conversations within professional boundaries. Avoid detailed discussions involving trauma, violence, sexual content, hostile or negative emotions. Inappropriate energy, actions, or comments may lead to an early end to the session without a refund if not corrected.
4. Sensitivities and Aromatherapy Preferences
Notify Gina if you have sensitivities to scents, specific allergies, or preferences for certain essential oils.
5. Techniques in Deep Tissue Massage
Deep Tissue sessions include very firm pressure with a blend of forearm work with elbows, as well as hands. Please inform Gina about your comfort level to ensure techniques are adjusted accordingly. Hands cannot be the sole techniques used due to the excessive strain it causes.
Thank you for your preparation and understanding; these steps support a focused and healing massage experience.
